Guns to Garden Tools

Jeff Wild is a retired Lutheran minister. Before his retirement, in the course of his work, he presided over a number of funerals where the deaths had been caused by gun violence, at least six of them by suicide. In his retirement, Jeff uses his skills as a blacksmith to recycle guns that people have voluntarily given up. I met him in Cambridge, Wisconsin at his demonstration area at the 2023 Firefest. He was busy re-purposing gun barrels as garden trowels. I asked him if I could make a few photographs of him in action.
